Beach at the St. ohns boat house had n narrow escape from drowning, when ler foot supped on the wet gong plank and she fell, into tho river. Gapt. Stevens, of the St. Johns ferry, heard her screams for telp and ran to her assistance. He succeeded in dragging her rom the water and to safety. She was immediately given first aid by Mrs. A. 11. lieach. and outside of a nervous shock, is feeling none the worse for her cold plunge. The services at the Baptist church will be as follows for Sunday: Sunday school at 10 a. m.; forenoon worship at 11; ser mon subject, "Paul's Four An chors.' JOHNS Big Class Adoption On Saturday evening, Decern ber 7tli, St. Johns Camp 754G, Modem Woodmen of America, held its first bijr class adoption. ; when a class of lifty-four new members wns adopted into this Camp, under the direction of Deputy Head Consul Geo. W. Muhm. About 250 members nnd visitors worn present. Tho De gree work was put on by a pick ed team from Portlund with Cap tain Hood in command. Neigh borl'. B.
