Hamilton, of Clatke county, Wash., and Miss Alice Caroline Tanson, of Silverton, Oregon, were united in mar riage at the homo of Gene lhompson. Monday evening, the ceremony being performed by Rev. A. Scott, 102 Central avenue, St. Johns, Tues day, September 21, William Howard bcott. aged 15 years. son of Dr, and Mrs. W. B. Scott, of Seattle. Howard was a good Christian boy and was very fond of his grandmother and aunt, with whom ho had come to spend a few days. Ho was perfectly well and happy when he came Friday evening, but was taken sick Saturday morn ing with that dread disease, (liptheria. All that medical science and skill could do was of no avail, and ho died luosday and was carried Wednesday evening out to the Columbia cemetery by his broken heartod relatives and laid beside his grandfather. Ho leaves to mourn their loss his father, mother, one brother and sister, and many other relatives and friends.
