The Dramatic Order of the Knights of Korrassan will hold ceremonies and will initiate a arge class of Tyros (members of K. of P.) in St. Johns Saturday evening, August 10th, in the ocal K. of r, hall. Her husband, who was ity recorder and city attorney for the former city of St. Johns for several years, is now located warrenton. Oregon, havintr ately arrived there from Canada. Mrs. Esson will join her hus band in their new home this week. The St. Johns Methodist Enls- copal church held its fourth quarterly conference last Friday evening, Dr. W. W. Youngson presiding. Over forty new members have been received into the church recontly, and it was voted to increase the pastor's salary $200 for the coming year. i "The Great Conflict after the War" will be the theme at the Methodist Episcopal church Sun day 11 A. The foundation of the 1.000.- 000 bushel grain elevator is well along at the St. Johns Municipal terminal and footing for the powerhouse loundation and other parts are under way, but on the main tulluing the work has slow ed because the waterproofing is being applied before the aide walls are carried higher. The steel reinforcing was delivered at a favorable time and columns are going in as well as the other lubor on the ground, so it is believed the plant will be operating by the time 1019 rolls around. As interior elevators are beginning to handle bulk grain it is aimed to have the Portland plant ready for part of the cereal to be shipped to tide water.
