June 9th will witness the greatest base ball struggle that has possibly ever taken place in St. Johns, when the Grant Smith-Porter club will meet the strong foundation club in a double header at the local grounds. Both teams are tied for first place in the pennant race, and there will be some thing doing every minute, in all probability. Owing to the great interest taken in these contests an immense crowd will be on hand to witness the titanic struggle. The game starts at 1:30 p. m. Bueermunn, wife of Rev.F.Bueermann. pastor of the German Baptist church, depart ed this life June 4th at the Good Samaritan hospital, pneu monia being the cause of her death. She was born in Canada almost 55 years ago. The fun eral services took place yester day at tho Portland German Baptist church, Rev. Hoffman officiating.
