made elaborate preparations for
a grand bazaar to tako place at
the St. Johns skating rink May

attraction is an East St. Johns
lot. donated by J. B. Hoi brook,
and to be awarded on tho last
night of tho bazaar.

A Red Cross benefit concert
will be given in Artisan Hall,
Portsmouth, Monday evening,
May 20th, by the Foundation
Shipbuilding Band. A fine pro
gram has been prepared, and a
hearty invitation is extended to
St Johns folks to attend.
Alterations and improvements
aro being added to the St. Johns
Phonograph Co. building near
the Review office. The owner
of the ground is planning to
erect a two story brick, similar
to the one occupied by Ormandy
Bros, in the near future, so we
have been informed.
Jane Irene Walker died May
10th at 712 South Edison street
of pneumonia, aged 5 months
and 14 da s. being the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Thos.L. Walker.
The funeral took place Sunday
afternoon at the home, Rev. Ir
vine officiating. Interment in
Columbia cemetery, the St.
Johns Undertaking Co. in
charge.

Ruth L. Bowers died at her
home in Linnton May Mth of
pneumonia, aged 20 months and
3 days. Tho body was shipped
to Corvallis Wednesday evening
by the St. Johns Undertaking
Co. for interment there.
Chas. W. Brown died nt 872
Yale strcot May 12th. aged 10
years, 2 months and 21 days,
l'ho funeral took place Monday
afternoon. Interment in Colum
bia cemetery, tho St. Johns Un
dertaking Co. in charge.

of a group of girls from tho Un

Blcgian relief work under the
direction of Mrs. R. G. Brand.
Mrs. Carrie Eldridgo has chargo
of a group of older girls doing
similar work.
