The morning sermon, "The Affec tions of the Master." Evening "The Mighty and the Lowly." Baptism will follow the even ing service. The complaint is made that the street cars are not kept in as cleanly manner as should be the case, and that the crowded condition of same is too close for comfort. There is plenty of grain to supply the needs of tho United States and the allies during 918, but it is up to tho gov ernment to move it from tho arms to tho centers of distri bution, representatives from grain exchanges from nil over tho country declared at Chicago ast week tho convention of the Nntionnl Council of Grain ex changes. Millions of bushels of corn will go to waste unless trains to move it can be furnish ed within CO days, it is said. Thousands of dollars are to be spent in a fitting out dock by tho urant bmith-l'orter-uuihrle Company at St. Johns, where vessels under way here, as well as others building at the company's Grays Harbor plant, will have their machinery in stalled. Permission to erect the dock was granted by the Com mission of Public Docks. The dock will be 304 feet long and G4 feet wide, while in the cen ter will be a machine shop, 112 eet long and 40 feet wide. A roadway will connect the dock and ship plant. The Red Cross work room in the Library on Wednesday pre sented an animated scene as 36 women plied their busy needles, accompanied by a cheerful huci of voices as they completed 28 garments and commcnc&l a number of other garments. Two knitted sweaters were brought in. Tho littlo girls that meet in the children's room the samo afternoon are finish ing a worsted quilt they have pieced in addition to their knit ted Servian squares.
