A cood resolution for all busi
ness men to make at the first of
the coming year is to positively
decide that they will during
the entire year run an adver
tisement in the St. Johns Re
view. It Has been agreed unon
by the leading business men of
the country that every business
man. to get the best results,
should expend two nor cent of
his gross receipts in advertis
ing. If every merchant in St.
lonns snouiu do tins, wnnt a
busy business place it would
become. The leading stores of
Portland spend two or more per
cent of their receipts in adver
tising. That is the reason they
are leading stores. Their two
per cent in advertising draws
trade from those places where
the local merchants refuse or
neglect to spend two per cent
in t Peninsula Security Co,
uuiongs ncre 00 your mi oy lay
ing aside two per cent for ad
vortising. The result will
amaze. If two per cent is too
strong to take at first, try one
per cent. Advertising takes
much trade to Portland and ad
vertising in rebuttal will keep
it here. Advertising is the key
note of success, and oftimc3 is
the diirercnce between success
and failure. Start the New
Year right. Plan your now year
advertising early.
