In Portland, Oregon, as mail tnntter
of the second class under the Act of Con
gress of Mnrch 3, 1879,
My dear Major, Krcctincs to
you, and greetings to the "Blue
and Gray," and may "the
eyes of time behold no name
more blest than thine, in all the
rolls of fame." That is my
wish. And this is my prayer:
That conscious of a righteous
cause, you'll keep entwined the
"Hlne and Gray" through all
the mists and all the shadows
of the vnle, through which you
go. And then, at last, when
madness goes and peace comes,
with your victory you'll hold
aloft the "Blue and Gray" to
show a world who fought and
men who killed may soon forget
as sires of the "Blue" forgot,
and sires of the "Gray" forgot.
That is my prayer, and this is
my wish: That you'll come
back from "Over there." Con
tributed, ,
An institution that is being
more seriously needed all the
while in St. Johns is u hospital.
With the now industries spring
ing up and many more employes
