Wo wont to half the stores in Portlnnd. Sho tried on at ienst 100 before finding ono that suited. I didn't npprecinto that mothod at ull too much traveling, bother nnd hit or miss principle. That evening I started thinking it over. Said to myself, were I n woman and wanted a hat I would go to a good milliner, tell her what I wanted to pay, wear the dress I wanted to wear with the hat, and have her design mo one a creation to fit mo, and mo alone, my beauty, my manner isms, my individuality: In short, just me. That carried another chain of thought. If hats, why not electric fixtures? Furnishings in the home are very important. Harmonious colors, good selection of furni ture and a nice blonding of lines mean n great deal, and a cheer ful home means n cheerful life. But after having a room proper- y furnished you can very ens y ruin tho harmony of tho whole by a poor selection of fixtures. Wow lor the last three years I have been studying everything that would have a relation to fixture design, architecture pe riods of furniture, color match ing, principle of design, shape. rhythm, sketching.nnd nil things that help mo design and make tne proper nxtures for your home. 1 am not done, never ex pect to be. but think I am fairlv proficient and ready to trv. louay 1 want you to ca me to thnt home of yours and let me sketch you a suggestion. It wont obligate you, and it might help. Fixture prices are mighty low now, and if you do buy you will get 51.25 value for every dollar you spend. ' lours tor service, L. E. GENSMAN. E. A. Tho treatment accorded the meter proposition in Portland Monday is a good indication of what wo may expect when Port- and is called upon to furnish Bull Run water to St. Johns.
