Subscription prloe $1.00 per year An Interesting Sermon Continued from 1st page of to See Matt. 24 M5. First, wo arc Advontists be cause wo believe in common with many earnest Christians o the present time that ihc advent of Uhnst is nn imminent event We base this belief upon the fact which cannot be success fully refuted that all Bib! prophecies reaches its climax this generation. Amonir these wo might mention the peace cry which hns become so popular i recent years, describad by th prophet isnian (isa. and Micah (Mic. 4:1-4). Both these nronhcts say that this con dition will prevail in the last days. Surely no one can fail recognize the remarkable fu Ailment of these two predictions in our dny. Then notice in this connection the striking contras in the prediction of the prophet Joe concerning the snmcpenot in which ho describes the world wide nroimration for war which is so strikingly fulfilled in our generation. Joel ii:910. Then in James the fifth chap ter wo have a prediction whic also applies to the Inst days and note how our century alone fits this prophetic mould. Here the apostle prophet declares that this last days rich men will hcai their truasuro together and thnt thu hire of their laborers wi be kept buck by them throng fraud. And is it not truo that wo livo in the age of the trus and the monopoly and the groat industrial combine which is cor tninly an accurate fulfillment of this prophecy There aro four teen long chains of prophecy in the Bible, beven in the old testament and seven in the new which give a connected history of ovonts through long centuries and reach their climnx in the second coming of Christ mid the end of all human kingdoms In ndditton to those chains o prophecy there aro also fourteen isolated prophecies describing conditions that will pruvail just before tho second advent of our Lord. Almost all of these prophecies aro already fulfilled or are in process of fulfillment Therefore wo may bo assured upon the authority of thu in fallible word that wo are living just buforo tho coming of the King of Kings when all the kingdoms of this world shall be come tho kingdoms of our Lore and of his Christ. Wo aro Seventh Day Ad vontists because wo believe that it is the duty as well as tho privilege of all professed Chris tians and indeed all tho mom bora of the human family to keep tho commaudmonts of God Hear the words of King Solomon on this point: "Let us hoar tho conclusion of the wholo matter. Fear God and keep His com mnndments, for this is tho wholo duty of man." Kcc 12:13. Also .hear the words of tho apostlo John: "Ho that Haith ho abidoth in Him ought himself also to walk, oven as Ho walked." 1 John 2:6. Ami wo road from tho same author quoting from our Lord, "If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my Iovo; even as 1 havo kept my fatlior s com niaudmonts, and nbido in His lovo." John 15:10. Tho last blessing pronounced in tho Bible is "Blessed aro they that do His commandments, thnt thoy may havo right to tho treo of life, and may enter through tho gntes into tho city." Kev. 22:14. Honco as Christians and those who aro humbly trying to follow m tho footsteps of our great Master wo endeavor to keep all God's commandments including the fourth command ment of tho everlasting ten. which commands the observance of tho seventh day as the Sab bath. Now all who havo given any thought to this question know that Saturday is tho seventh day of tho weok, and thoroforo thobabbath, according to this commandment. And there is no other command to bo found in tho Biblo for tho keep ing of nny other weekly Sab bath. Tho prophet Isaiah pre dicts a reformation concerning tho Lord's Sabbath in tho last days. Seo Isa. 58:12-14. May it bo tho happy and blessed privilogo of all my hearers to bo found worthy and fit subjects for citizenship in the kingdom of righteousness and peace which shall soon bo established."
