Tho city has purchased the Smith
property for tho express purposo
of being enabled to improve the
street in a uniform manner.
Therefore. why not tako tho mat
ter up and finish this fine scenic
boulevard?
There seems to bo considerable
diversity of opinion on tho ques
tion of vaccination. There are
those who hold to tho belief
that vaccination possesses all the
virtues requisite to successfully
combat smallpox, while others
look upon it more in tho light of
taking an antidote for a disease
that might never have attacked
tho vaccinated one in any event,
and that the after efFects result
ant from injecting the germs in
to the system is more to bo dread
ed than smallpox. Whether a
person should be vaccinnted is a
matter that ho shall have to de
cide for himself. If ho is con
vinced that it is a desirable
thing to do, ho would not be do
ing justice to himself not to do
so. If, on the other hand, he be
lieves that vaccination is useless
or harmful, he should assuro
himself that such belief is well
founded, and if he finds such to
be the case, he should naturally
decline to be vaccinated.
