The Portland Telegram thinks
there are too many lawyers in
the Legislature. UM, it does
seem like getting money in n

help enact laws, and then a fee
for talking a jury into sending
some poor sinner to jail for
breaking them.
It's an ill wind, etc. Anyhow
the washouts and general disor
der caused by the heavy storms
in and about Los Angeles will
provide 'work for a few of the
thousands of poor devils who
were drawn there by literature
which assured them that it was
the promised land It is to the
man who can subsist upon clim
