A Brilliant Social Event The elite event of tho year was held 111 the St. Johns rink Wed nesday evening. It was the an nual ball of the Bachelor club, and was the most swell affair that has occurred in the club's history. Never was the rink dec orated and adorned in such an elaborate, artistic and superbly beautiful manner. It was a pos itive triumph to tho ingenuity. consummate skill, industry nnd artistic ability of the Bachelor boys. It resembled a veritable fairy bower with a bewildering array of festoons, garlands and streamers of tho club cold's over head, and witching cozy corners were sumptuously arrayed near the orchestra stand. The music was the finest, most abundant nnd most delightful of any pre vious ball given by the club, and consisted of seven pieces. The capacity -.of tho rink was strained to its utmost capacity to accom modate the dancers. One hund red and thirty couples wero pres ent and enjoyed tho music and splendid floor so greatly that each number was repeatedly en cored. Delicious punch allayed tho thirst of the "trippers of the light, fantastic toe." The Bachelor boys aro adopts at mak ing one and all feel at their ease. and unobstrusivcly but unfail ingly find partners for all who care to dance.
