Cal.. for the Win ter, will endeavor to procure leg islation by Congress prohibiting the manufacture of whisky in the United States. Mr. Benson has set aside $50,000 to further tne project, ana nis attorney is now drafting a bill that Mr. Ben son wishes to have passed at Washington. The proposed bil will positively prohibit the man ufacture of whisky, but will not interfere with the manufacture of beers and wines.
