Meeting Postponed On account of the absence of numbers of our people iu attend ance at the Rose Carnival, it was decided not to have a meeting of the Commercial club which would otherwise have taken plnce on Wed nesday evening last, but which will occur the coming week. Several important matters will come up be fore the meeting for consideration especially reports relative to the coming Sweet Pea Show, Regatta aud Industrial Inhibition. Hvery thing is reported to be progressing favorably. It is expected to have the principal streets appropriately decorated as also the city dock, and doubtless St. Johns will appear 111 brilliant festive attire on July 8, 9 aud 10. Commodore Boost of Portland Motor lioat club reports that everything is very promising aud the lleet captain is coming to St. Johns iu a few days to con fer in regard to completing arrange ments. The railway companies have been waited on by the Trans portation Committee with a view to having arranged all necessary facil ities for conveying the people here. It is well at this time for our peo ple to commeuce to think about the matter of decorating. Out of the general fund the maiu streets will be decorated, but individuals will be expected to decorate their own business places aud homes.
