It was connclciit- ly expected thnt the supreme court would hand down the decision on Tuesday, but it failed to do so. As Tuesdays seem to he the only days whon decisions are made public, the anxious ones must wuit n icw days longer. f Reports from Hood River valley indicate prosjHJCts good for another bumper crop of "Big Ked Apples this season. Woid has been re ceived that prosixrcts are very flut tering for the fruit prospects about Med ford and in the Rogue River valley. In the wheat belt the crop outlook is snid to be fine. The lumber industry has nothiiiK to complain of. With such pleasant nnticiimtioiis, tile average Oregon- ian can afford to sit on the fence and lnugh as the jiessiinist goes by grouching about tiard tunes. The people of St. Johns should unite upon one candidate for county commissioner, I here ore enough voters in St. Johns to cut consid erable ice in the nomination, and tiorhatis control the situation. 1 he merits of the different candidates .should be rigorously investigated, and the one that promises to be the Souiiretit. the most honest, the most capable and best fitted .should re ceive the solid vole from St. Johns. The people here know what the can expect from I.ightuer. His I Hist record has been far from satis factory to our twople, and to jar- putuate him in oiiice would no doubt prove 11 detriment to St. Johns. All that could be nsked is that St. Johns leceive just what she is entitled to. We have not been getting this by a long .shot. The whip is in our hands. If we do not use it we should not coiupl iin if things don't go to suit us afterward. Let us unite upon the best candidate and throw him our united supimrt.
