When von close votir store in the evening and go home to your family nnd fireside, not thinking about your business at all. then it is that the tmncr is being perused in hundreds of homes the homes from which your trade is drawn. And there is your ad doing tho work silently, but surelv. and if von have taken tnc pains to make it attractive, its work will be all the more attractive. This is rencated over and over again, and is no doubt what Inspired some writer to call newsnaner advertising a "si lent Drummer." 1 It is not nlcasant to record the truth, there are mothers who have sacrificed motherhood to worldly ambition, and the most unhappy women on earth arc those who set' aside filial tics in order to live lives of social frivolity, and the time comes to all such, when the bloom of vouth forsakes the cheek, and fire of vouth dies out of the eye. Such often turn to their homes for sym nathv and love, only to find that they too have vanished with their personal charms, nnd when it is too lntc the sad truth dawns upon them that thev arc unhonorcd and un loved. The path of duty is the only safe path, let it be ever so thorny, and the safe guide board points to the home. 1 If subscribers to the He view find the paper has stopped coming ruth' cr nbruptlv, they can come to the conclusion that their time has ex nlrcd. The fact that the water front stub of Charleston street has never been oflicinlly vncnted is grntifying news to most of our citizens. It is now probable that an exchange can be made for a like jmrtlouoi ground adjoining the Richmond street dock. The stub 01 street in quentlnu ex tends from Albany street to the harbor line, being about 200x60 in size. With this much ground lidd ed to the dock propeity, it can be mnde into something worth while, giving n wnter frontage of 1.10 feet, we believe. Frantic endeavors hnve been made from time to time to have this pint vncated on the part of the Marine Iron Works, but ac cording to Attorney iyon it wns never legally vacated. As n rcmilt n lively squabble seems imminent. A standing offer of $1000 for thin part of Charleston street was made in itcnrinl iiliirrvanco ol nisi lir Orncinl Gunnsoii I'o.t C. A.
