A Boon to St. Johns
According to the bill which has
passed both the house ntid senate for
n free ferry at this point, it Is in
cumbent upon the citizens of St.
Johns to purchase the upproaclics
nun secure tiic franchise from the
present holders. Some imagine the
t proppsition is to purchase the pres
ent ferry boat also. Tills is entire
'..ly erroneous. The approaches on
icach side of the river is nil that Is
. necessary nud Is nil thnt It Is pro
posed to purchase. The ferry com
pany has placed n valuation of
-$6ooo upon these, and unless this is
paid a free ferry will not be secured.
