It Is entirely lininii terlnl to us whether the city buys tho present boat or constructs a now one, only wu believe In fair play mid believe Ibeso koiiIIuiiiuii tiro entitled to receive fair compensation for their frnuclilso and utilities. Had they known 11 free ferry would bo Installed In a couple of years It Is unlikely that they would have gone to tho ex pense they did unless they expected to unload upon the city at an ex orbitant figure. In that ciuto they would surely have secured a fran chise to cover Hie entire water front Instead of the small territory they did secure. Tho city was so anxious to secure good service across thu rlvor at the lime Hie present ferry was Installed that there Is but little doubt but that Ibis would have been granted.
