A very pretty, quiet wedding
was that of Dale I. Taylor nnd
Miss Adelaide Nunti, which oc
curred at the home of Mr. Taylor's
parents oil dresham street Wed lies
day evening at 8 o'clock. There
were none present except the tin
mediate relatives of the contracting
patties. 1 he groom is the eldest
sou of Prank Taylor, the National
Tea More man, and the bride is the
daughter of W. I.. Ntiiiu recently
from Hay City, Mich,, where Mr.
and Mrs. Taylor were little chil
dten together. The looms oi the
residence were very tastefully dec
orated witli marguerites and roses,
and the bride looked very charm
ing in her nil over luce bridal robes.
1 he ceremony was pronounced by
Kev. L Hester mill dates, who was
obliged to leave immediately after
it was mushed to attend another
wedding where he stood ns one of
the principals. Our most hearty
congratulations arc joined with
those of the many friends of Mr.

death by the log rolling iion him.
He saw the log stmt to roll toward
the carriage and stepped to get out
of the way, his foot going into a
hole pitching bun iu front of the
log. His shoulder was dislocated
and was hurt internally, but it is
thought lie Avill recover.
A little luter in the evening an
other employe of the mill had his
knee caught by a log in such u man
ner as to crush the knee-cap and
we nre told it may termaneutlv
cripple him.
Among railroaders there is a su-
pcrtitiou that accidents come in
bunches of threes, and this seems
be an occasion of this kind, for a
short time after the second accident
another of the employes was injured
quite severely, but the time of goiug
to press we did not learn the names
of the last two men nor the nature
of the injury of the last oue. The
employes nave oeeu very fortunate
lately as this is the first accident
for some time in this mill.

last Friday morning. Cop is one
of our very best Hood River
friends. Wc have had many good
times together in the Olcta assem
bly of the United Artisans in the
Apple City. He is an old timer at
Hood River. They tell of Hnns
Lnge, that he came to Hood River
when Mount Hood wns a hole i
the ground nnd Cop enmc just
few years later, we think he must
have been among the first to carry
snow up to cover the top of that
glorious peak. Anyway Cop has
more friends to the souare vard

In Miss Weidrick. Mrs. Hinrichs
came from York state about three
years ago nnd line made a host of
friends in Hood River, Mosier and
elsewhere since coming west. These
good friends have our heartiest
best wishes for a long and happy
prosperous Hie wherever they may

day to see them in our lovely little
city and will assure them of n most
hearty welcome here whenever they
choose to come.
Woodpeckers Skin the Eagles
The return game of ball between

pulled off at the local grounds June
21. lloth teams were backed up
by an enthusiastic crowd of rooters
and the affair created considerable
interest among the followers of th
two cuius. 1 ne woodmen proved
loo many lor the haulcs, however,
ami rolled up n score of 32 to 9
against the American birds. The
clubs were pretty evenly matchei
until the 7H1 inning, when the
Woodmen got after the ball iu
great shnjw, and when the inning
was over eleven runs were added
to their string. All pitchers looked

Crook, the old reliable, lost his
rabbit foot, and was pouuded all
over the lot. I-.ach club has won n
game now and the concluding one
of the series will make the feathers
fly. The date has not been set
when it will be pulled off.

of the city of St. Johns, and possessing
the qualifications of jurors of the circuit
court of Multnomah county, Oregon, be
and they arc hereby appointed to view

adjournment shall not exceed one week
