A millionaire once said that he
never got any happiness out of his
money. Wealth does not bring
happiness as is evidenced by the
Vatiderbilts, Goulds, Thaws, steel

mind with an abundance of good
things to eat. Now if you will go

you will certainly be happy for he

Would not Try It.
A bunch of St. Johus people
went over to attend services in one
of Portland's beautiful churches
ast Friday night. Going up Third
street their attention was attracted
to a window in which were .dis
played several pretty snow white
rabbits. One of the ladies in an
ecstasy of delight and admiration
exclaimed: "Oh, isn't that too
culel look bow they wiggle their
noses" and turning to a rude bar
barian who was a member of the
party remarked; 'I'll bet you can't
wiggle your nose like that. ' Just
then the mamma rabbit began
scratching her nose with ber hind
foot. The horrid man seeing bis
opportunity quickly replied; "No,
ana I'll bet you cannot scratch
your nose with your hind foot like
that bunny, either." You could
have beard the shout that went up
half way to Council Crest and they
are not done laughing yet.
