GAS PLANT CONTRACT
St. Johns Gas Company Will
Hasten Operations.
S. V. Davidor, of the St. Johns
Gas, Heating and Lighting Co.,
announced yesterday Uiat the com
pany had let the contract for the
gas machinery and Holder to tlic
Seattle Machinery Co. for ?2 1,000,
to be delivered within three months.
Mr. Davidor further announced
that gas would be delivered to con
sumers in bt. Johns witliln 414
months. Ground for the buildings
for the plant wilt be broken one
month in advance of the delivery
of the machinery, on the site of
the St. John Steel Ship Company,
recently purchased by the new
company for $8000. Men arc at
work in bt. John making measure
ments for the pipe lines of the
plant, the intention being to hasten
the work of construction in all
lines.
Mr. Davidor said that the prcs
cut financial situation would not
interfere with the prosecution of
the work of construction with all
