What narrowly escaped being a
serious conflagration occurred at the
home of W. L. 1 horndyke Wednes
day evening. The chimney caught
fire and it took the combined efforts
of W. L. and his sou Frauk to sub
due the flames.

ohns Wednesday, and were so
well pleased with what they saw
that they declared they would sell
their holdings iti the land of the
blizzards and return here and take
up a residence.

of the season was the entertainment
given by the ladies of the W. R.
C. Circle last Friday evening nt the
Chicago rooming house in honor of
the birthdays of some of the mem
bers of the Circle. The baud ren
