The only damage by the recent heavy ruins in St. Johns was the marooning of the city hull and its occupants. The water and mud registered two inches above the overshoe mark Monday afternoon. The slush rose steadily and by Wed nesday morning it had reached the danger mark. The cool snap that followed averted threatened disaster. W.
