Mrs. 0. S. Chapel iu honor of her
husband' birthday. She planned to

proved herself a charming hostess.
Prof. Jay Hand, with his gramophone
was an interesting feature. The guests
departed at a late hour, declaring it
to have been ono of tho most enjoy
able times of their life,

Fletcher Mighclls, the 1(1 year old
son of Mr. nnd Mrs. Mighclls, Sr.,
who hns been in poor health for a
number of years took a medical ex
amination which developed the fact
that bis trouble was appendicitis
which would necessitate an oporntiin.
Ho was taken to the hospital in the
city on Friday, Nov. 4, and underwent
the operation on Saturday morning
which was successful, and is improv
ing rapidly and will soon bo nblo to
return home.

Heillv Jliuhclls wos born nt Hun-
dolpb, N. Y., .May 7, 1001 ; died Nov.
3. 1004; ago II years 5 months '27 dnys.
Air. and Mrs. Mighclls moved from
Randolph, N. Y., reaching St. Johns,
March 0, 1001, where they have since
resided. Their son Kcilly was n sweet
amiable child attracting every one's
attention who came iu contact with
him. he tmsscd through a tcigc of sick
ness of nearly one month, all was done
for him both medically and nursing
but to no nvnil. The funeral services
were held from the Evnngclicnl
church, the services being cindtictcd
bv the unstnr.
The imrents and relnllves have the
sincere sympathy of the neighbors
