Loeal Ageat SAFETY DEVICE IS INVENTED Signal Lamp on Rear of Automobile Enables Driver to 8lgnify His Intentions. The Scientific American illustrates and describes a signal lamp, invented by H. R. Andreas of Manila, P. L, as follows: The object of the invention Is to provide a device wbereby an automo bile driver may easily signify from the rear of his car to following auto mobiles or other vehicles his Intention to slow down and stop, or of changing direction by turning either to the right Front View and Section of the Device. or left, without diverting his atten tion from the proper management of his own car, thereby materially con tributing to the snfety of his car aiffl those of others following in crowded traffic. Did you ever look at your fan belt when you found your engine over heating? A slipping belt means the fan Is going at a slower speed and does little cooling for the engine. The oil pressure gauge furnishes a rather accurate means of determining the condition of the engine bearings. As the bearings wear the oil circulates more freely and the pressure natural ly drops. Because there are several particu larly fast automobiles in this country, there Is a plan among motor Interests to get up a subscription to send Ameri can cars and drivers abroad to enter in the French Grand Prix automobile race this year.
