Puffy Of This Place Passes tfc-tohcr 25 Following a prolonged illness which she bore with patient and un complaining fortitude for a number of years, Mrs. Mary C. Puffy passed quietly and peacefully away Satur day afternoon, October 25. at the home of her daughter. Mrs. F. G. Kinghorn of St. Paul. The immedi ate cause of her death was interstital nephritis developing from chronic diabetes with which she had been af flicted for a long time. Accompanied by her daughter. Ger trude, Mrs. Duffy went to Loring Parle Sanitarium, Minneapolis, in September, where she took treatment for five weeks. She was feeling much better and stronger and went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. King horn, on October 14 to visit for a short time before returning home. While there she took a sudden and Unlocked for turn, but no one thought that her condition was such as to cause alarm and her death came un expectedly to her family and friends. Funeral services were held Tues day morning at nine o'clock from St. Mary's Catholic church, of which de ceased had been a lifelong attendant. Rev. Fr. Lee was the officiating cler gyman and interment was in the fam ily lot in the lower Catholic cemetery. Relatives and friends who came from other points in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. andMrs. F. G. Kinghorn and children. Mrs. Fred Stubbs. Mrs. Jos. Eller. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Eller and daughters. Grace ; and Genevieve, Leon ad Zettel of St. : Paul, Mrs. I.awrence Stemmer of Minneapolis and son, Raymond Stem mer of Excelsior. Civil Service Commission has announced a nexamination for the county of Crook to be held at Prlne ville on December 13. 1919. to fill the position of rural carrier at Prine ville that may later occur on rural routes from other post offices In the above mentioned county. The exam ination will be open only to citiiehs who are actually domiciled in the ter ritory of a pot office In the county and who meet the other requirements set forth In Form No. 1977. Admis sion of women will be limited to wid ows of C. S. Soldiers, sailors, or mar ines, and to the wives of IT. S. sol diers, sailors, or marines who are physically disqualified for examina tion by reason of injuries received In the line of military duty. This form and application blanks may be ob tained from the offices mentioned above or from the United States Civil Service Commission at Washington, D. C.
