Word came In a leter received by
Rlly Cook from Miles W. Bennett
of Walla Walla, that a large portion
of hli wheat was destroyed when
smut caused the threshing machine to
explode. 2,800 sacks of threshed
wheat and 25 acres of standing grain
were destroyed. 1,000 sacks of the
hreshed grain and the buildings
were saved. There was an insurance
on the destroyed property for 85
bushels per acre. However, the
standing grain that was burned was
going 40 bushels to the acre. Mr.
Dennett was formerly a Madras res
ident, leaving here five years ago.

orizing the sale of said bonds before the Cir
cuit Court of Crook County. State of O egon,
and bids will be subject to said certification
and confirmation. ' s

Board of Directors of the Ochoco Irrigation
