parties and from the looks of the
town Sunday afternoon it was evi
dent that everyone realized it.

from a short business trip to Port
land. He reports business conditions
good in the Rose City.

J. E. Bloom and family will leave
for Portland tomorrow, Mrs. Bloom
and Marjorie and Kathryn will re
main for some time in the city for
the benefit of Marjorie's health. J.
E. and Dick will return Sunday night.

complete systems with all the wiring

Word was received Monday that
Helen Elkins, daughter of C. W. El
kins, was seriously stricken with ap
pendicitis at 0. A. C, where she has
been attending school. Mr. and Mrs.
Elkins left Immediately to be with
their daughter. The operation was
to have been performed Monday
night.
Dr. Belknap Is sending the week
end In Portland, where he will at
tend the graduation exercises of his
son, Leland, on June 6th, from the
Island, has received his discharge
and has returned to Portland to take
up his practice of medicine again,
S. B. Ellis of Prineville has been
granted the exclusive grandstand con
cession at the Oregon Interstate Fair
to be held October 1-2-3-4. There
were a number of bids for the privi
lege and as Mr. Ellis was the most
favorable, be received the award.
