Hughes and Miss Catherin Love. Miss Dolly Hodges of the Journal force went to Portland Tuesday to be gone several days on business for the Journal. Herb Angell, George Nicols, Dan Clark, and Seth Dixon started for the head of the river Tuesday to inspect some cattle. Prominent citixens gave the Income tax man, R. C. Brlggs, a busy day at the court house, Saturday, making out income tax returns. Seth Dixon returned from Portland Sunday morning. He has been buy ing horses and mules at government auction and selling them to the far mers of Palouse county. H. C. Nelson has returned from California, where he has been for the past month convalescing from the effects of an attack of flu. Dr. Geo. B. C, that arms for the rifle range h'ave been shipped. There will be a basket social at the Lower McKay school house on the evening of March 22.
