He 1b taking theiu to their Ochoco range for the winter. Mrs. T. B. Trice and Mrs. G. C. Price shipped about five dozen chickens the last of the week. They will make another shipment of turkeys and chickens. Born to the wife of Art Panter M Km Creek, Nor. 24, an eight pound boy. Abouty fifty head of beet cattle belonging to Luther Claypool, passed through this section one day last week from the Paulina country. Mrs. Charles Cowles left the first of the week for Wallowa to visit her father, Mr. Beechum. Mrs. Dave Rodgers. of Portland, is visiting with her mother and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Blevens, of Ochoco, tor an Indefinite time. Mrs. Fred Jones spent the week end with her daughter In rrlneville. Mrs. James Fuller has been visit ing relatives in rrlneville the past week. IUwey T. Payne spent the week end at the home of his brother, Harvey Payne. Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard. of Cul ver, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Calavan. Miss Oral Sears Is visiting with Prineville friends this week. Mrs. 11. I- Payne spent Friday afternoon with Mrs. G. C. Price. Mrs. Herman Pill made a ship ment of turkeys and chickens the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Ualmner spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Jones on Ochoco. Mrs. J. E. Warner went to Camp Lewis. Taooma, last week to visit her son Floyd who expects to start for France within a few days. Carl Mayfleld and Pete Jordan went to Portland the last of the week to enlist In the navy. Walter Knox and Albert Lane were riding for cattle In this vicinity Monday. Kenneth Nelson is slowly recover ing from bruises caused by a car overturning last Saturday. Clarence Ferguson purchased a new Buick car recently. Kate Colvan is at home for a rest. She has been working on the Mays ranch for some time. J. ft. Post mae a bualncsad trip to Prineville. Mrs. F. A. Polk visited her sla ters. Mrs. K. A. Abbott and Mrs. Hubert Hemarls, last week. Mis, Homer Norton spent Sunday In Prineville. J. C. Akin and fntnily are moving to the Knox place. Many friends regret to learn of the death of Mr. Ulttlngs. W. D. Knox has taken his rattle away to feed for the winter. F. A. Polk spent Sunday with his fa niily. Chaa. Henry has moved his saw mill to McKay Creek. Prineville men returned j from the Pacific International this week with seventeen head of the best sires that were on exhibition there to head Crook County herds. Fifteen of the number are Here fords, and they were bought by II. D. Dunham, Wm. Ledford, C. W. Foster, S. S. Stearns and George Dickson. The remaining two were Short horns which were purchased by K. Dean Huston and Frank B. Foster who are Interested together In a herd of Shorthorns, and John Kuhn of Suplee.
