Lewis Standcltft, who Is trapping at Mrs. Boynton's homestead, has a fine line of coyote and wildcat pelts. Mrs. F. D. Soammon wus a pas senger on the stage lust week bound for her home near Fife. Miss Hansen spent the week-end with Mrs. C. O. Storri and Addie Miller. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Taylor and J. R. Post were In Prineville, Monday. J. W. Lee Curtis came back to Meadow. Thursday from Hay Creek where he helped deliver catle to the Hay Creek Company. Lee Blevins and Alex Donnelley, from Ochoco, were in this section Friday. Mrs. Lloyd Rippy, of Prineville, Is spending a few days in Meadow visiting her mother, Mrs. Minnie Disbro. Loran Kimble and Chas. Jones left this neighborhood last Saturday for Portland where they will be lo cated for the winter. ' Lloyd Rippy arrived In Meadow, Tuesday, where he expects to spend a few days hunting sage hens. Harry Kimble sold Henry Cook 6 cows and calves last Monday. Miss Louise Jordan called on Mrs. Harry Thronton, Wednesday evening at the Mulvahill ranch'. The city of Portland has received a bid of $5.60 a ton for waste foodstuff now being burned at the municipal aarbage Incinerator. It is the purpose to sell these foodstuffs to feed hog snd other animals. Right women are employed In the plant of the Springfield Planing Mill company at Springfield, and the pro prletors of the mill have found the experiment such a success that It is probable more will be employed. At a meeting of delegates from the various granges In Clatsop county, a resolution was adopted authorizing the county Pomona grange to appoint a buying and selling agent to represent the grange members. The Coos county court has decided to secure a true valuation of the real property and Intends having a com plete survey made for readiness for the 1918 budget, which will carry the appropriations for 1919.
