Thursday evening at their ranch on
Crooked Rivor. when the wagon In
which the farm hands were hauling
, struck him on the back of the

The boy was standing near the
wagon where he could not be seen

team, the brake hit him and ren
dered him unconscious for several

It was feared at first that he had
TPceived internal Injuries but the
last report was that he was resting
any and would probably recover.

Circuit Court closed Saturday
evening after a two weeks' term.
A few of the cases were trans
ferred to Deschutes County where
they will be tried, some were dis
missed and others continued for the
term.

ther duty and are subject to the
'call of Judge Duffy as needs arise.

!the work of the grand Jury disposed
of this term before the trial Jury

The deal was made through Lake

was about $30 per acre.

Grand Lodge Ottioers
At the regular meeting of Ochoco
lodge No. 46, I. O. O. F., Tuesday
evening the members received an
fficial visit from Past Grand Master
H. J. Taylor, representing the Grand
Vaster, and Grand Junior Warden
R. F. Kirkpatrick of the Grand En
campment. An open session was
acid a number of the Rebekahs at
tending. The visitors spoke of the
work of this order in Oregon and at
Ihe conclusion of the speaking an
informal social hour was enjoyed
and ice cream, cake and coffee were
served. Messrs. Taylor and Kirk
jmtriclc are both residents of Pendle
imt and are on a two weeks' trip by
nrto visiting the lodges of central
and southern Oregon.

row afternoon at three o'clock.
Anyone wishing to join the unit will
please notify Mrs. Thomas Sharp,
Wristlets, helmets, Bleeveless jackets
and mufflers will be knitted for the
sailors and the ladies are very anx
ious to have as many as possible

The Sisters Fair is closing Its
fourth annual show today, and the
best crowd for the three days is on
the grounds this afternoon.
Today is Redmond Day, and peo
ple from the Potato City are In at
tendance In a body.
The agricultural exhibits are of a
high class, and the pavilion 1b
crowded with them.
Fancy work and culinary exhibits
are not so extensive as last year but
the quality is high.
Events on the track have been
good. The bucking contest yester
day was won by John Muir of Prine
viile.
