P. ADAMS0N & COMPANY GAS POWKK. Tlio first small gasoline traoti.r for this immediate vicinity is here and that many others will follow soon is a safe prophesy. There ate so many tilings that a maonine of this kind can do that hjrse flesh can't that every farm of any considerable size will have its tractor during the next half-dozen years. The first tractors were of such size and weight and so expensive, bolh to purchase and operate that their use was beyond the average farmer, but a tractor that has the flexibility of the present day machine, and one which can be had for less than $1000 is a neeeesity on every farm where much work is to be done with more than Iwo horses. Anyone who has used large teams in farming operations knows that the day's work is decidedly limited, and that heat and many other things effect the range of useful ness of horses which wil not be an item with a machine of the gas tractor type. Another great benefit that will be realized by the farm with a I tractor is the ability to perform an j operation of whatever nature is ! necessary such as discing or harrow-! ing. when the time is best suited for that work. Every farmer knows that when the ground is right for plowing, for example, it should be plowed, and if a man could plow his entire field in one day it would be good busi ness for him. The use of a truck for the farm er and stockman is becoming com mon and the passenger ear for pleasure and, business is to be found on almost every ranch. The tractor is next and they are all good investments. Congressman "Nick'' Sinnott has requested the Journal to assist him in the distribution of the govern ment vegetable and flower seeds allotted to him for this community by the department of Agriculture. This method of distributing seeds through cooperation with the news papers of his district was first tried by our congressman last year. It worked so satisfactorily that he is repeating it this year. It was found that this method got the seeds in the hands of those really desiring them, and so was far bet ter than the method of sending them out indiscriminately. Con gressman Sinnot also requesed us to announce that he retained a small quantity of the seed at his office in Washington, Room 494 House of Representatives. Anyone failing to obtain seeds otherwise may thus get them directly by writing him there, so long as the supply lasts. NOTICE OF SHERIFF'S SALE.
