Two ordinances were intro duced, but no important business transacted. A party of Royal Arch Masons from this city went to Bend Monday evening to attend a meet ing of the order at that place. Tnree carloads made the trip and members in the party were: T. M. Baldwin, Dr. Chas. S. Edwards, M. E. Brink, H. R. Lakin, J. II. Wigle, C. V. Foster, J. W. Carlson, E. J. Wilson, L. M. Bechtell and Homer Ross. An excellent time is reported. Harvey Cyrus took a party con sisting of Misses Mabel and Bernice Grant, Vira' Cyrus and Johnny to the Lanionta and Culver countrj Sunday. Morris was oper ated upon for appendicitis on Mon day by Drs. Belknap. The opera tion was very successful and the patient is rapidly improvirg. While coining into town last night, Marion Mayfield, in his Ford truck, struck Jimmy Ntvvsoni, who was riding a bicycle, and ran com pletely over him. The bicycle was completely demolished, but th boy escnped with only severe bruises. Mrs. 0. C. Clay pool, who recently opened the Prineville Beauty Shop, is filling a real want in the com- j munity, considering the amount of business the place is doing She specializes in the manufacture of hair switches and like wtrk, and is busy all the time. The greater part of the town of Crescent on Upper Deschutes was destroyed by tire yesterday. The origin of the blaze was in the Crescent Hotel, anil an overheated chimney is given as the cause. The exact extent of the loss is not known. : J. A. Gillis, Prineville's mer chant tailor, is literally swamped with work these days, being ably assisted a large part of the time by Mrs. Gillis. He does first class work for both ladies and gentlemen and good workmanship and cour-' teous treatment gets the business always. ! These people are deserving much credit for their en terprise and are deserving of liberal patronage from everyone, which they always receive.
