There will be a basket dinner after Sunday school at Grimes' c'lapcl on Sunday to be followed by the usual preaching service. J. II. Haner was in Prineville from Bend on Tuesday. Ed. llensley left for Susanville, California, Monday afternoon. Mrs. N. 11. Bell cast the first vote in the East Prineville precinct Friday. Miss Edna Laughlin came from Mitchell Monday for commence ment week. C. P. Becker and Mrs. Becker were in Prineville the last of the week from Tumalo. Sichel Hinkle went to Portland on Monday as an Odd Fellow dele gate to a convention in that city. Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Randall re turned recently from The Dalles where they have been on a visit. Homer Norton of Post was in Prineville Tuesday assisting in the official canvas of the election re turns. Will Arnold took his three little boys and went fishing on the Mc- Kay Sunday. They caught 27 trout. Will caught two. Florence Waldron is visiting friends in town after completing a successful year of teaching at Grass Valley, Wash. W. Jerry Smtih and Clara Lucile McDuniel, daughter of Mrs. J. E. Stanclift, were married in this city May 20th, and left for an extended honeymoon. Services as usual on Sunday at the Methodist church. Roy C. Anderson of Port An geles, Wash., and Katherine Merritt of this city were married Tuesday and left for their home in Washington. A fire at Madras early Sunday morning destroyed the Robinson store and was checked only through great effort. The origin of the fire was unknown. "Northern Lights," the play which was given by local talent last year with pronounced success will be staged again soon. It is the j Ian of the management to paly at Madras, Redmond and possibly Bend. A Ford car, driven by Mr. Noon chester of Burns, was overturned on the grade wt sv. of the city the last of the week. Considerable damage was done to the car, but the driver who was alone at the time, was uninjured. Mrs. Floyd Huston and daugh ter, Clista, returned Saturday from Portland with her son Wayne, who underwent an operation for adenoids at a hospital. The young man is doing very well since the operation. They visited at Dufur and Maupin on their return. A drinking fountain which was bought and is being installed by the Crook County Bank in front of their institution on the corner of Third and Main, will be greatly appreciated by the public. The fountain will be maintained by the bank, and taken altogether shows ajspirit of enterprise that is typi cal of this institution. Miss Sykes entertained the Sen iors last Thursday evening at what the class says was one of the best parties of the year. After attend ing the theatre they were escorted to the domestic science department of the high school, where pennants, rugs, cozy chairs aid subdued lights gave the appearance of a large club room.
