C. C. 11. S. NOTES. !
The counties of Crook and JefTer-1
son are well aware of the worth of j
the C. C. H. S. normal graduate:
and have employed a number of the
students to teach in 'their schools.
This is the most emphatic proof
that could be brought to bear oh
the fact, that the much talked of
efficiency of our high school is not
an empty bluff. The students of
the normal department are drilled
in all that is new and broad on the
art of teaching.
The following arc those who thus
far have secured positions: Miss
Mevuuley will teach at Terrebonne;
Miss Everett, Camp Creek; Miss
nietne'v. Opul City; Mrs Merritt.
Roberta; Bernard Ramsey, Vanora;
Miss Payn, Howard; Miss Merrill,
Fairview; Miss Thomas, Maury and
Rei Powell in Prineville.
The oratorical try-out resulted in
the choice of Frederick Rice, Stacy
Smith and James King for the
Ochoeonians and Rader Prewitt,
Frank Ric: and Adrian Yancey for
the Alphas. The final contest tor
the Baldwin prize of fifty dollars
will be held some time commence
ment week.
The high school baseball team
which went to Paulina Saturday
met with sad results, being defeat
ed 21-3 in a game as dull as the
score admits. The ,boys report a
pleasant time otherwise.
Lydia Laughlin representing the
senior class explained about Elbert
Hubbard and his Roycroft Shop
which works under the motto of
"Not too cheap, but how good."
Lota Horrigan played an interest
ing piano solo.
Miss Sykes spent the week end at
the Weigand ranch near Lamonta
enjoying the thrill of eouutry life.
