Burdon has moved his office to rooms 4 and 5, Crook County Bank building. The Ladies Aid of the Baptist church met with Mrs. J. N. Windom last Thursday afternoon. It i is hoped a great number will be j present. Election of officers. T. T. Armstrong of Barnes re- ports that he shot 1000 rabbits in six weeks during January and Feb ruary. All of them were killed ; with a 22 caliber rifle. j Superintendent J. E. Myers an . nounces a local institute to be held in Redmond on March 11. Besides Mr. Myers, the meeting will be addressed on various topics by Mrs. . E. L. Walker of this city, P. M. . Marsh of Redmond and R. G. White I and H. L. Hopkins of Bend. I Bend voted $30,000 in railroad .bonds, and authoiized street im provement bonds at an election held there Monday. Nichols & MeCorntick shipped two cars of cattle and one carload of hogs to the Poitland markets Saturday night. Miss Pearl Russell, who was in jured in an accident on New Year's day near Howard, was taken to Portland Saturday for treatment. Services as usual at the Methodist church Sunday. Epworth League Topic, " 'Others' as a watchword for Christians." O. T. McKindree, of San Fran cisco,' has been buying wool in the vicinity of Prineville this week. Luckcy, the latest candi date to announce himself, is a resi dent of Crook County, having been born in Prineville 34 years ago. He is a republican, and well and iavor ably known in this community. He is a good penman, and a good office man, one who is qualified for the position which he seeks. Thursday evening about 8.j of j the members and friends of the B. I Y. P. U. met in the basement of j the church and spent an enjoyable ! evening. Nora Stearns and Lota Horigan, the entertaining com mittee, kept everybody busy. Geo. and Martha Washington were there, also the cherry tree and the little hatchet, A goodly number of ap propriate and patriotic readings and recitations were given .during the evening.
