THIS PAPER REPRESENTED FOR FOREIGN ADVERTISING BY THE GENERAL OFFICES NEW YORK AND CHICAGO BRANCHES IN ALL THE PRINCIPAL CITIES PROGRESS. It s?ems that the day of progress and development is really dawning for the Prineville country. Not the least important of the recent developments that promise better days is the railroad move ment. A combination of events promises to make the building of a r ...rad to Prineville a reality dur ing the present year, and with the railroad will come other big things including a mill which is being con templated by the Rodgers timber interests, the development of the irrigation district on the north of the ciiy and a brisk and ready mar ket for the products produced in this district. All of these things are being made possible by the sprit of co operation which is being realized stronger and stronger every day. The knowledge that unites com munity effort with ail prejudices, of whatever nature "laid aside, will accomplish all things, is the redeem ing ray of light that is seen in Prinaville's east, and upon the com ing of the n?w day many of the best things for Prineville will be accom plished. While each community possesses its individual advantages, and is correspondingly hampered with dis advantages,' when all is said, the opportunities are about equal and those who really accomplish most are those who are first to see the wisdom of united effort, and make it a working reality instead of a mere theory. Practically without a dissenting voice the people of Prineville today are demanding that a railroad, built and owned by the municipality, be built from this city to the main lines west of this point. 'A'e have the promise of every individual member of the council that an opportunity will be given the citizens to vote upon this issue daring the coming six weeks and we predict an almost unanimous voice in favor of providing the council with means to accomplish these things. P. 15. Poindcxtor. mond. IV S The office of Circuit Judge, for Crook and Jefferson Counties, was created in 1915, and T. E. J. Duffy, was aptointed by Governor Withy combe to fill the position. Although Judge Duffy register? as a demo crat it may be noted, that his ap pointment was made by a republi can governor, who among a great number of people regards such office as nonpartizan. Judge Duffy, en tered upon the discharge of the duties of such office, giving up his private practice of law, to devote all of his time to it, and it can be safely said that he has administered such office fairly, impartially and in a business like manner. It would therefore s eem no more than right, in view of his record, that he be nominated and elected to succeed himself for a further term.
