Every sermon is a masterpiece and every appeal is from the heart Beginning in the Evangelistic work at the early age of fifteen he preached with such power and success that he became known throughout the country as the '"Boy Evangelist." With the development of manhood also came a personality that is rare and pleas ing. He's a "live wire" in the pul pit, speaking ripidly and with the ease of a natural orator.having been polished by scholarship and constanct service. Many people in the state of Ore gon have been glad to pay well for a seat in order to hear the Glee , Club of the University of Oregon ' sing. It's useless to say that only the best talent from the entire stu dent body ever succeed in winning a place in the Glee Club. The , expenditure of this money and the ( development of these lands will im-' mediately bring prosperity to the j whole community, to the individual j in giving him steady employment j and to the city by bringing business to every house within its confines. The lands that are to be irrigated are for the greater part, at least, now producing about 10 bushels of j rye per acre every other year, Un- j der irrigation they are admittedly among the best alfalfa lands in the i state. From three to five tons per j acre each year is a conservative es-; timate of the amount of first qual-1 ity that these lands can produce. Of course there will be years when j water will be scarce, but any onei who has lived in the Ochoco Valley j for any length of time, knows that if the waters of winter and early spring are conserved, there will always bt enough to irrigate one good crop, and usually enough for the entire season. 1 maintain that the creation of the Ochoco Irrigation District and its development is worth more to the community than any other one thing, a railroad not excepted, and I further maintain that there is no other one thing that will come as near bringing a railroadas the form ation and development of this irrigation project.
