Post of Post was in Prine ville the last of the week, Frank Broderick is the new jani tor at the high school. Dewey Moore was in Prineville from Powell Butte yesterday. E. W. Kimbell was a business visitor from Meadows Sunday. Chas Bowisby of Suplee spent Sat urday in this city on business. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Willard H. Wirtz on November 18, a boy. Frank Foster is in the city this week from his ranch near Paulina. Paul Lundquist was a business visitor from Powell Butte Tuesday. B. R. Weinberger of Meadows was in this city on business Monday. County Clerk Brown returned the first of the week from Colville, Washington. J. V. Kuhn and son of Suplee were in the city the last of the week on business. Clyde Hoover returned the first of the week from Paulina where he has been doing carpenter work for G. M. Cornett. W. H. Birdsong and family moved from Paulina to their ranch near Prineville the last of the week where they will spend the winter. August Bingold who has been away for some time returned to this city Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Granville Nye were in this city from Robei ts the first of ttfe week. Ed Hyde returned the first of the week from Post where he has been during the summer. Harry Severns, of near Paulina, killed a mad coyotte on his front porch one night this week. Lester Ferguson a prominent cat tle man of Roberts spent several days in this city on business this week. Clanence Harvey and family were in the city the first of the week from Meadows where they spent the summer. There Will be Christian Science Thanksgiving services in the Masonic hall Thursday at 11A.M. Every body welcome. . A. B. Roller and family will leave tomorrow for Los Gatos and other California points where they will spend the winter. Grovcr Young and wife arrived in this city from their home in The Dalles where they will visit with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Throop of Paulina passed through this city Saturday on their return from San Francisco. The California Jubilee Quartette made their second appearance in Prineville at the opera house Mon day evening. They drew a good house, and presented an evening of high class entertainment. Although lacking their pianoist who was a man of ability, they demonstrated that they are "every one a star." Rankin of LaPine were married at the Methodist Parsonage in this city on Saturday, November 20. Mrs. C. W. Rankin accompanied the bride after which the bride's mother left for Chicago. Ike Mills has just completed a new stone residence, trimmed in gray, hard wood floors and all modern improvements, at Paulina. He will install an electric lighting system and has one of the finest re sidences in Crook County. The local branch of the Wiley B. Allen Piano house will be opened in a few days in the room where Kamstra's jewelry store is located. Mr. Brent the local representative having rented floor space and will share the room with Mr. Kamstra. The Laides of the Methodist church announce a cafeteria sup per in the Sunday School rooms at the church on Saturday evening December 4. Chicken and other good things will be served. Don't forget the time and place. Ben Kennedy who was arrested at Powell Butte about three weeks ago by Sheriff Knox, was sentenced to a term of from three to twenty years in the state pen in the circuit court at Roseburg last Friday. He was convicted lor the crime of wronging a thirteen year old girl. In accordance with our national custom and the proclamation of our President all the Protestant churches of frincville will unite in a special Thanksgiving Service on Thursday evening at 7.30 P. M. at the Methodist church. Rev. George H. Ramsey will preach the sermon. Rev. W. L. Van Nuys, J. T. Dowcll and E. C. Newham will each take part. A union choir has been or ganized under the direction of J. W. Smith. A special feature of the pro gram will be a hymn composed by the pastor of the Methodist church ior mis occasion, come, and come i early. As the holidays are drawing near we hope you will think of the un fortunate people right here in the community who are greatly in need. Look through your attics and we are sure you will find things that have become useless to you. If your child has outgrown a U.y or a wearing apparel, pass it on.
