Crook County, Oregon on the 12th day of November. 1915; and Whereas, on the 26th day of Oc tober. 1915. Ordinance No. 22T. amending Sub-division Two of Sec tion Twenty-five of Chapter five of the City Charter of the City of Prineville. Oregon was passed by the C4ty Council and approved by the Mayor of said City; and on the said last mentioned date. Ordinance No. 228, amending Section Seven of Chapter Three and Sub-division Forty-seven of Section Twenty-five ofChapter Five of the City Charter the City of Prineville, Oregon, was passed by the City Council and ap proved by the Mayor of said City; and the said amendments to said City Charter were referred by said Ordinance No. 227 and No. 228 to . . , . t rv the legal voters oi uie uiy oi mne- j ville for their approval or retection; and Whereas, the iudges of said elec tion made returns of said election on said 12th day of November, 1915 and the asme were canvassed by the election board as by law required; and thereafter to-wit on the 13th day of November, 1915, the City Recorder in the presence of the Mayor of said City, duly made can vass of said returns as the same related to the vote cast for the above mentioned amendments to said City Charter; and it appeared from said canvass that Ninety-two (92) votes were cast for the adop tion of said amendment to Sub division 2 of Section 25 of Chapters 5 of said City Charter; and a like number of votes, viz. Ninety-two ' (92) were cast for its rejection, re-. suiting in it reiection; and it fur ther appeared from said canva. that Ninety-four (94) votes were' cast for the adoption of the amend ment to Section 7 of Chapter 3r and to Sub-division 47 of Section 25 of Chapter 5 of said City Charter and N inety-two (92) votes were cast for the reiectionof said last mention ed amendments, resulting in its adoption by a majority of Two (2) votes; Now therefore, by the authority vested in me as the Mayor of said City of Prineville, Oregon under Ordinance No. 226 for said City and the Laws of the State of Oregon, and the premises aforesaid, I here with and hereby proclaim a..d de clare said amendments heretofore ordained by the said City Council in Ordinance No. 228 of said City, an! adopted by the legal voters of said City at said election to be held in full force and effect as an amend ment to said City Charter and the law of said City of Prineville, Ore gon; and I herewith and hereby pro claim and declare that Section Seven of Chapter Three of the City Chart er of Prineville, Oregon the same being an act of the legislature of the State of Oregon, approved by the Governor thereof on tha 16th day of February, 1899, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 7. There shall be held on the third Monday in December. 1915, and of each year thereafter an election within the city of Prine ville for. the purpose of electing a mayor, recorder, and treasurer who shall hold their office for one year from the first; Monday in January next following said election and un til their respective Successors are elected and aualified. There shall also be elected cn the Third Mon- year thereafter, three members of the council, who shall hold their offices for two years from the first Monday in January next following said election, and until their respec tive successors are erected and quali fied; provided that the three mem bers elected to the council on the third Monday in December, 1914, shall hold their offices for two years from the first Monday in January next following their election, and until their respective successors are elected and qualified.
