Upton returned from a trip to Portland and The Dalles. E. J. Wilson returned the last cf the week from his o!d home in the east. Dr. Ida Behrendt will.be at the Hotel Oregon until Saturday, Oc tober 16. Mrs. Van M. Morse will open her classes in public speaking next week. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Windom of Crewell, Oregon, have been visiting in Prineville this week. Born, to Mrs. Walter Demaris on October 10, a boy. R. L. Schee loft today for Sisters to attend the fair. Born, to the wife of Fred Cay ton on October 6, a boy. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Robinson will leave Sunday for the San Francisco fair. Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Winnek were visiting relatives in this city last week. Miss Goldie Wagoner returned tie first of the week from a ti ip to San Francisco. Bert Randall, C. W. Wilson and F. Evans, of this city, enroute to the fair at San Francisco. Mfs. Ei 0. Hyde returned yester day from a trip to the middle west where she has been visiting relatives. She says that Oregon looks good to her. C. W. Foster had some April lambs at the fair that weighed 126 pound each. They were grade Ham p shires, and are worth almost f 10 each in the market. J. T. Dowell, of Freewater, Ore gon, will supply for the Baptist church for th next three Sunday mornings nd evenings. You are welcome, come. A band of 1900 sheep passed through Prineville Sunday on their way to the L. L. Jones ranch at Mitchell. They were driven from Davis Lake in the Cascades in five months. The Federation of young people's society will meet at the Presbyterian church Sunday evening from 6.30 to 7.15. Leader, Rev. Geo. H. They will live on the ranch Mr. Rickman recently pur chased from C. J. Johnson. James Allyn of Cecil, Oregon and Mrs. S. P. Glenn were married at The Dalles on September 15. Mr. Allyn is well known in the Paulina country, and Mrs. Glenn will be remembered by the ojder people there. They will reside at Cecil. There will be preaching at Grimes Chapel Sunday afternoon at 3 P. M. Sunday School at 2 P. M. E. C. New- ham. The subject of the morning sermon at the Methodist church will be "What is Christian Baptism?" Sunday evening the Methodist and Presbyterian Churches will welcome Rev, Van Nuys to the Presbyterian pulpit by combining their services. The semi-annual meeting of the Crook County Medical Society was held in the banquet room of the hotel Prineville Friday evening, Oc tober 8, at 8.30. Papers were read by Drs. J. H. Hoelscher of Chicago, Ferrell of Bend, and Fox of Prine ville. The next meeting will be held at Redmond. A newcomer to Redmond this year for the potato show will be King Murphy the First, who will arrive in Redmond October 21st. He will be introduced to the people of that town at the coronation cere monies when he will ascend the throne and be given the keys to the city. This promises to' an event of unusual inteiest.
