Dinner was served by the ladies, and various amuse ments entertained the visitors from the time of their arrival at 2 o'clock until 4:110 when the purty departed for Bend. The I'rineville band and the licnd band united in playing a number of selections, .lust a word about the exhibits at this little fair. For variety, of the display of the products, they could not be excelled anywhere. Judste Duffy, who was at the fair most of the day, anil who visited the fair at San Francisco early in the year, stated that there was nothing at the big fair that could beat it, me considered. This fair has been developed like most fairs, from a small beginning by a few faithful workers, until it is one of which the community may well be proud. No accidents were reported by anyone except broken Bprings and punctures, and the Keene and Ran dall repair ear kept them all run ning. The route covered was about 125 miles long, and roads were as good as could be expected at this season. Harry Lane, junior senator from Oregon was in Prineville on Sunday. Senator Lane is traveling in his own car, having covered a large part of the state during the past three or four weeks. The senator is accompanied by his wife and daughter, and is meeting the farmers and stockmen, and look ing up the needs of his constituents, as well Ht some political fences throughout the state. White here, he was taken out to the land lying north of the city and after looking over the proposed irri gation project, stated that he would do all that is possible to assist in getting the water to this land. The party left Monday for Bend, and other points on the west side of the county. Since leaving I'rineville he has been employed by a furniture house and on the evening he was injured the truck was delivering a large load of furniture and in some manner he lost his footing and fell to the pavement. Windows. in ' ; ( it Sheep Buyers Active In Central Oregon Sheep buyers in Central Oregon have been active this week both in buying and transferrin? sheep from j summer to winter ranges. A deal in which A. Wheelhouse and C. A. Weatherford of Arlington and James West of Bicknall, Wash ington are interested was closed last week in the Silver Lake district in which 12,000 head of sheep were purchased for immediate shipment. The total price for the sheep is in the nighborhood of $40,000. Sixteen cars of sheep were shipped out of Bend last week for the winter range near Coleman. More than 15,000 head of sheep are in Bend awaiting shipment to the coast mar kets and winter range in the state. Bend Bulletin. ' . City Council Holds Regular Meeting At the regular nun-ting of the city council held Tuesday evening a num ber of matters of importance were discussed. The matter of finance for the coming year was referred to the . finance commitee. The council ordered the leins that ; have been placed againts property which has not had sidewalks and street assessments paid collected, and if necessary to sell the property in making such collections. At a special meeting of the city council which was culled at the re quest of the fair board on Saturday, it was voted to allow the people who are in Prineville this week with various shows and concessions at the fair, to move their palces down town at night, and operate on the streets without license charges. It was also' voted to order' ce ment sidewalks in front of the city lot, on West Second street. W. J. Hughes and wife returned yesterday from Hepner where they have been spending 'a vacation.
