patch on the McKinzie where he
secured 75 gallons of berries.
Miss Lottie Crain and mother re

an extended visit through Oregon
and northern California. '
Manager R. L. Schee has a letter
from the 0. V. railway company
which states that their line will make
special rates from The Dalles to
Bend during fair week, one and one
third fares prevailing. The return

delegate to the land grant meeting
at Salem, which is in session today.
Miss Beatrice Johnson left Friday
for St. Louis from where she will
go to Oberiln, Ohio, where she has
enrolled as a student in one of the
best music schools in the country.
J. E. Calvan who taught school
in various parts of Crook County a
number of years ago, is visiting
with relatives here. His horn is at
Oregon City at present.
The teachers of the public and the
high schools are holding the first of
a series of regular social meetings
this afternoon at the high school
building.
The Live Wire Club and the far
mers from the country north of
Prineville are holding a banquet at
the Hotel Prineville tonight. They
expect some 100 men to be present.

tian Church next Sunday. Subjects:
"The Vine and the Branches," and
"Is God With Us?" Sunday school
at 10 o'clock. You cannot afford

Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Stuart will
leave the last of the week for a trip
to West Virginia. They will go
though Canada, Washington D. C,
and return by the way of San Fran
cisco, visiting all the points of inter
est along the way. They will be
absent some two'months.
Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Wilson were
suddenly called to their home in the
Willamette Valley, on account of the
death of Mr. Wilson's brotier, Chris
topher C. Wilson, who has made his
home with Mr. Wilson for the past
two years. Mr. Wilson and wife were
driven to Eugene Thursday night by
their son, C. W. Wilson.
Jack Dobry, clerk at Stewart's
store, basebal ( manager and the man
who made a score in a fast game last
summer, announces that he will give
a dance at the Glaze hall Friday
night, September 24, to which every
one is invited.
A rabid coyote was killed at the
T. J. Steuart place near Paulina one
day this week.
