SCHOOL-TEACHERS MAY WED
Marrlag Found No Bar to Teaching
In Oregon.
Portland, Or. Marriage Is not a
cause for which a school board in Ore
gon may remore a permanent teacher
from her position. Judge Morrow so
held when, after considering the case
more than three months he sustained
the position of Maud L. Richards in
her case against the Bchool board.
Mrs. Richards filed an application for
a peremptory writ of mandamus forc
ing the school board to reinstate her
as a teacher and to pay her salary
from January 4, 1916, the day she was
married to Oren R. Richards and dis
charged by Superintendent Alderman.
