BRIEF WAR NEWS
The most Important happening of
the war during the past week was the
sinking of two British battleships and
one French battleship while engaged
In operations against the Turkish forts
defending the Dardanelles. The allies
attribute the loss to drifting mines.
The crews of the British ships are re
ported to hare been saved but most
of the crew of the French ship were
lost It is said battleships are on the
way to replace the lost ships and that
efforts to force passage through the
Dardanelles will be continued.
North Poland has again been trans
formed Into an immense bog by the
thaw which has set in just as Field
Marshal von Hindenburg has started
his offensive against Przasnysz. It is
declared that it is impossible, except
at widely separated high places, to
move, let alone fight
The Germans, however, have started
an offensive in central Poland, where
they have commenced an attack on the
Russians in the region of the Pilica
river. There is also heavy fighting in
Galicia, the Carpathians and Buko
wina, despite the heavy snow.
On the western front no operations
of great importance took place, al

forts to work their way forward in

antee Page Wire Fence to be the most satisfactory fence made
and can cite you to dozens of farmers and stockmen in this vi
cinity who have carefully compared Page Fence with other fences
on their farms and ranches and who will unhesitatingly say they
consider the Page Fence the best and the cheapest.
Page wire is about twice as strong as other wires and being
made of coil spring steel has a power of resistance that is not
found in any other woven wire fence. Page wire is the only
wire known that is not affected by hot or cold weather, and Page
wire will not get slack unless the posts give away. We guar-
The' 'catalogue house" fence is made to sell cheap read the glowing description of the wonderful qualities of the wonderful fenceits wires are made of the strongest steel its
weave and knot is a perfect marvel but the hungry hog soon bores through it the refractory cow soon learns that it can be torn down, and the cold nights and hot days soon slack
the wire3 while through the same trials or even twice greater the PAGE fence stands as good as new and even better for it has gained the reverential respect from the cow and the
hogs in sad experiences, and the man who thought that one fence was just as good as another has had his eyes opened. Fence COST does not always end with driving the last
staple. It depends on the fence. A good fence is a good investment. It is a protection against wire cuts to your horses; it is security against the ravages of the rabbit or the visit
of the coyotte. Tne loss of a good horse, the destruction of ten acres of grain by rabbits, the gleaning of a big field by your hogs after the crop is gathered will easily pay for $ 1 50
worth of fence. Without the fence tne loss is yours. Page Fence can be had in many different styles, to suit your needs, made in rolls of 20, 30 and 40 rods for economical stretch
ing. Page fence requires fewer posts than other fences as its wires stay tight.

Page Wire Makes Good Sus
pension Bridges-
Stretches of 1 50 to 1 90 feet are frequently made with Page
wire for foot and sheep bridges across the rushing mountain
streams of Southern Oregon.
About two weeks ago a suspension v-bridge of Page wire was
made in Crook county, on the, H S. McCall ranch, that has a
span of 2200 feet and carries a deck load of 1 400 feet of lumber.
In a photograph made of this structure there were fourteen peo
ple standing in the middle of the span and the drop or sag does
not amount to more than three feet. These bridges are built at
a fraction the cost of cable and take but little time.
So far as we know, no other such suspension bridges have
been made of any but PAGE WIRE. Catalogs and prices sent
on request.

PAGE METHOD OF SPLICING BOTH QUICK
AND SECURE
Loopg are turned at, the factory in each end of every
Hue wire of Page fence, and every roll of fence contains a
bunch of email coils by the use of which two rolls of fnnce
are joined together in the same manner as you would place
twa keys on a ring at the fatne time, thus joining your
fence together quickly and securely, This feature is of
special value should you want at any timo to change your
fence from one line to anothei, as you can readily see it is
the work of but a very lew minutns to turn the coils out of
the loop-ends.
We are in the Fence Business to stay, because
we have the fence you will always want
