San Francisco. The spectacular
career of Lincoln Ucachey, one of the
most daring of American aviators,
was ended Sunday when he fell to his
death at the Panama-Pacific Exposi
tion in plain sight of thousands of
ipectators.
The accident was attributed to the
Tact that Beachey entrusted his life
for the first time to a new monoplane.
The machine was at an altitude of
about S000 feet when llcachey shut off
hla power. For several hundred feet
the machine dropped head on for the
earth and when the aviator grasped
his control lovers to adjust the plnues
for the graceful descent which charac

THE MOTHEB OF LINCOLN BEACHEY, FROM THE TOWEB. OF JEWELS, 435 FEET ABOVE THE
EARTH, AT THE PANAMA-PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION, WATCHES HER SON
LOOP HIS ONE THOUSANDTH LOOP.
When Lincoln Beachey, a son of Sap Francisco, on the occasion of his homecoming after breaking all world rec
ords as a daredevil looper of 91W loops, performed two entirely new and death defying stunts over the completed
palaces of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition it was hla a(?ed mother who for the first time waved him
on tc fresh achievements. Mrs. Beachey held a place of honor, 435 feet up In the air, on the tiptop of the won
derful Tower of Jewels. From this aerie she was able to watch every erratic move of her daredevil on. She
cried out only once. That was when he wrote the figures "1000" against the clouds, high above the two miles
af completed exhibit palaces, slcniflcant of the looping of his one tbousaudth loop.
Rabies in Coyotes Spreads
With the warm days there come
increasing reports of the spread of
rabies among coyotes. Ten days
ago a boy was bitten by a rabid
animal southeast of Bend, and last
Sunday a man suffered the same
fate in Wheeler county. The State
Board of Health reports that heads
of coyotes are arriving at that
office in Portland on an average of
about one each day, and practically
all of them have the disease.

Coil Sprieg
Steel
Wire!
Page wire is about twice as strong as other wires and being
made of coil spring steel has a power of resistance that is not
found in any other woven wire fence. Page wire is the only
wire known that is not affected by hot or cold weather, and Page
wire will not get slack unless the posts give away. We guar
antee Page Wire Fence to be the most satisfactory fence made
and can cite you to dozens of farmers and stockmen in this vi
cinity who have carefully compared Page Fence with other fences
on their farms and ranches and who will unhesitatingly say they
consider the Page Fence the best and the cheapest.
The "catalogue house" fence is made to sell cheapread the glowing description of the wonderful qualities of the wonderful fenceits wires are made of the strongest steel its
weave and knot is a perfect marvelbut the hungry hog soon bores through it the refractory cow soon leams that it can be torn down, and the cold nights and hot days soon slack
the wires while through the same trials or even twice greater the PAGE fence stands as good as new and even better for it has gained the reverential respect from the cow and the
hogs in sad experiences, and the man who thought that one fence was just as good as another has had his eyes opened. Fence COST does not always end with dr iving the last
staple. It depends on the fence. A good fence is a good investment. It is a protection against wire cuts to your horses; it is security against the ravages of the rabbit or the visit
of the coyotte. Tne loss of a good horse, the destruction of ten acres of grain by rabbits, the gleaning of a big field by your hogs after the crop is gathered will easily pay for $1 50
worth of fence. Without the fence tne loss i3 yours. Page Fence can be had in many different styles, to suit your needs, made in rolls of 20, 30 and 40 rods for economical stretch-
Page fence requires fewer posts than other fences as its wires stay tight.

Page Wire Makes Good Sus
pension Bridges
Stretches of 150 to 190 feet are frequently made with Page
wire for foot and sheep bridges across the rushing mountain
streams of Southern Oregon.
About two weeks ago a suspension v-bridge of Page wire was
made in Crook county, on the H S. McCall ranch, that has a
span of 2200 feet and carries a deck load of 1 400 feet of lumber.
In a photograph made of this structure there were fourteen peo
ple standing in the middle of the span and the drop or sag does
not amount to more than three feet. These bridges are built at
a fraction the cost of cable and take but little time.
So far as we- know, no other such suspension bridges have
been made of any but PAGE WIRE. Catalogs and prices sent
on request.

Loops are turned at tho factory in each end of every
line wire ol 1'ngfl fence, and every roll of fenco contains a
bunch of Hinsill coils by the une of which two rolls of fence
are joined together in the name manner as you would place
two keys on a ring at the tame time, thus joining your
fence together quickly and securely. This feature is of
Hpecial value nhould jou want at any time to change your
fence from one line to anothet, as you can readily see it ia
the work of but a very few minutes to turn the coils out of
the loop ends.
We are in the Fence Business to stay, because
we have the fence you will always want
