Mrs. C. 0 Stover and infant son

J. M. Hayes and family took
dinner with Miss Trait Sunday.
About seven inches of snow fell
Saturday night which was greatly
appreciated by the farmers.
Mr. and Mrs. Gillenwater and
Mr. and Mrs. Abbott called at
Norton A Stover's Sunday. Mr.
Abbott was on his way to his
school in the Maury district.
Mr. and Mrs. Gnuter spent the
week end at the Roy Gray home.
C. L. Patter-'on killed a rabid

The water was turned into the
canal Thursday morning, Friday
night Uie ice jammed, into the
stave Hume, causing it to explode,
throwing cakes of ice weighing 300
to 500 pounds fifteen feet into the
air. Joe Shearer put on a crew of
men and now has it in good shape
and the water is to the lower put
of the ditch.
Allen Wileoxen and daughter,
Harriett, returned from their visit
to Portland Saturday morning.
Miss Jane Allen spent the week
end with her brother, Herman.
It. L. Moore is selling a great
deal of his hay in Prineville.

Celebrates Birthday
One of the most enjoyable events
of the senior class during their
four years in high school oecured
at the home of Mrs. Norris Morgan
'last Saturday evening. The occa
sion was in honor of her son's nine
teenth birthday. At 7 o'clock all
nineteen seniors and Prof. Smith
were present. The living room
w-as tastefully decorated in blue
and gold and the dining room in
'black and crimson, the class colors.
I Promptly at 7:30 Harry Farns
worth lead the way to the dining
room. Mr. Lafler was there to
take a flashlight, after which savory
odors began issuing from the
kitchen. A delicious four-course
dinner was served by Pauline Trues
dale and Bertha Lambert. Hobart
Belknap was toast master and a
number of the class responded with
well given toasts.
Harry was presented with a
watch fob as a token from tho cliiss.
The young folks then proceeded to
the parlor and played games. Mr.
Smith, scoring tho highest in a
guessing game, was awarded a
lovely C. C. H. S. sofa pillow and
Pete Harris, winning the "booby"
priae was given a rubber Cupie.
At a late hour tho guests de
parted declaring Mrs. Morgan a
fine cook and a delightful enter
tainer and wishing Harry many
more such birthdays.
