L. II. Ijifollette bid the property in and says that he will be ready to o?n the place for business again In a few days, perhaps by the first of next month. Tho claims against the Pioneer ('ream Company will be adjusted by the receiver, A new brand will be placed on the butter and ice cream. Tho present location will be renovated and put into a sani tary condition before the place is opened for business. This is welcome news to the cream producers of this locality who have shipped cream at the rate of several hundred cans per month to various outside points, all of which have proven less satisfac tory than a local creamery run on strictly business lines would be. 1912 County Judges Serve Only Four Years A decision was handed down by the supreme court of this state yes terday which effects the terms of office for the county judges of each county. The rabid coyotes are the lead ing question in this vicinity at present. Most of the people have awakened to the fact that it is dangerous to go unarmed. Every one should carry a good gun, not merely for self protection, but so as to be prepared to kill every coyote that is seen, if possible. Pull Karnes Saturday and Monday were very interesting, even though Corvallis won. The first game was more exciting and was more of an even game. The score was 21 to 28 in favor of Cor vallis High. The second game was not so close. The last half of the game was very fast and the visiting team were forced to keep on the move. The final score stood 23 to 49, again in favor of Corvallis High, Altho we were sorry to lose the games we feel it takes a great deal more courage to take a defeat graciously than it does to win a vic tory. The Corvallis boys won the respect of all the people here. It is the first time a team of that kind has come here without a coach and they proved that one was not needed. They were very appreci ative of the kindness shown them while here by the Crook County High School team, students and patrons. We hope they come again next year- After the game Monday night a reception was given at the high school under the direction of the Basket Pall team. The Corvallis and Lamonta teams were invited A short program was rendered and owing to the late hour refresh mcnts were served. 'I he annual declamation contest will be held February 11th and 12th ; at th high school. There are about eighteen participants in the tryout. Everybody is invited. No admission will be charged. The program commences at 7:30 p. m. Mrs. Stella Sears was a Monday morning visitor in Senior classes. The program given by the glee clubs Friday night at the Lyric was well patronized. $26.30 wa3 real ized. There were three vocal duets. The Boys' Glee Club gave three se lections "Come Where My Love Lies Dreaming," "Aloha Oe." and "A Little Peach." The Girls' Glee Club gave three selections "Trip Along," "Loch Lommond" and " My Wild Irish Rose." As a closing number of the pro gram the two glee clubs rendered "Anchored." The Seniors are selecting class rings, invitations and programs for commencement and are discussing graduation. Awake! Arise!" seems to be the popular High School song. As a joke on the girls the boys sang i; as an encore. To be even with the boys the girls sang it again Monday night at the reception and immedi ately the boys proceeded to whistle it. The Bovs' Glee Club had charge of the assembly period Monday morning.
